I re-ranked the best list of widely available sales training programs. Now you can use it: Ranked by Price and Level of Skill e.g. Value. Here are two that are “free.”
Hubspot does a great job, and it’s free if you have the software. But there are other free, albeit software-related, companies you haven’t heard enough about. One great one I’ve met is SalesScripter. Truly free and a truly good software guy who knows how to write.
So here are some of the vendors that rank in google and were first posted by the good people at HubSpot. We arranged them by some logic, and we’ll be changing this around with a better post and a hopefully dynamic topic.
Free – Connected to Software – High Value

Location Online

Focus: Sales prospecting methodology
Intended audience: Inside salespeople, sales managers, sales trainers

In sales, your statements and questions to prospects can mean the difference between failure and success. But even though a salesperson’s words are their most valuable tool, many salespeople still improvise when they call, email, or meet with prospects. This program is designed to give you a strategy-backed process. It covers building a value proposition, asking the right questions, closing more effectively, and more. Not only will you sell more, but selling might even become more fun.
CashMagnet Comment – I met the guy, and he has prospecting writing and utilization locked down. I used the tools and they worked for fundraising in a crappy market. Great solution and very good training.

Sales Gravy has this really focused course that puts them in a different and easy-to-miss category, in addition to the other things they do.Today we can add in virtual meetings. The skillsets are closer than ever between inside and outside sales tasks. The question is whether $150 an hour to accelerate sales by that much per hour could be worth it. By understanding how customers frame value and make choices, salespeople will be able to articulate value situationally, thus creating a more personalized experience for them.

Location Find a training center near you
Length: Ongoing
Focus: Sales Process

What makes this methodology unique is that it’s based on survey data with research authority that spans across the globe. All of this delivers tangible value that your business will positively impact your business’s bottom line. The sessions cover the entire sales process, from building rapport and setting initial expectations to giving demos and negotiating.
CashMagnet Comment – The power of the submarine metaphor will live forever! If you have a process and you use it, you will double your win-rate. These have become scientific findings and Sandler has been teaching them for over 60 years. People haven’t evolved as fast as the need to sell. This is just good stuff, and it fits a big hole, but it’s not everything. As close as you can get, if you don’t need customization or count a sales training habit-bill as big as a decently felonious habit-bill, expect plenty of bargains, but between $995 – $3995 per person per year, depending on the training package.

Types of Sales Training Programs Available in Multiple Formats
CashMagnet Comment – Tony is amazing. and doesn’t need my press. He and his SalesIQ are giants in the venture-backed, Saas and other tech sales training markets. It is the place to be if you’re selling training, and he is very good; the content is dialed in, the people are smart and effective. It’s all very caffeinated and tech-ey. They sell value, and they command value. They will help you deliver. If you have the money, you can afford the gloss. Good things aren’t free, like the tools they use to drive revenue up, so expect pricing to be between $1995 – $5995 per person, depending on the package.

CashMagnet Comment – I don’t know how David Hoffeld snuck this one in there; he’s best known for his Science of Selling brand. (Maybe our friends at hubspot haven’t updated this blog I reworked). But David Hoffeld – He’s really good, and he’s the guy to get, so it’s quicker to start virtual and infuse the recommendations; Nonetheless, expect to pay for a premium package and premium facilitation, between $1995 – $3995 per person, depending on the package.

CashMagnet Comment – We love the Brooks Group. The brothers are legit and their training is rooted in some deep trait identification and development. It is possible to get good sales behaviors by focusing on negotiation, but the inverse is true too; they go hand in hand. Negotiation experts are focused on the task and teach important principles like planning and self-assessment. Their outcomes are strong, and this group seems to do a very good job. Niche focus drives me to expect pricing to be between $995 – $3995 per person per year based on the learning mode (virtual or in-person) and the complexity of the task.

The program starts by engaging leadership to help diagnose the root cause of sales issues. This particular training is delivered to over 20,000 people each year in eight different languages across four continents. Teams that operate across the globe will appreciate this training approach because it ensures each rep gets the same quality experience no matter where they work. Early career professionals to senior leaders will complete the program with proficiencies in leadership, written communication, and working collaboratively to achieve business goals. Subject matter experts will master the delivery of the value proposition of the products they sell in order to close deals.
CashMagnet Comment – Another niche-focused skill developer, Ariel works on formal communications and sets up routines to align these communications with a sales advancement routine. They have lots of experience and are a good option if you have a good bit of language diversity in your team. It appears to be a consultation-led development program aimed at aligning sales with marketing. Great approach for targeted outcomes, and I expect pricing to be between $995 – $1995 per person per year.

There are not enough good programs in this area, and Mandel has good references and a solid program. Sales Recruitment Training
Vendor: Sales Gravy
Location Virtual and Online
Length: Eight hours, but can be expanded to two days
Focus: Recruiting, interviewing, selecting, onboarding, and retaining (RISOR) sales talent
Price: Contact Sales Gravy for pricing
Hiring great salespeople can be tough, especially if your business sells a product that requires a specific skill set or prerequisite knowledge like medical sales. In just eight hours, Sales Gravy provides sales leaders and managers the competencies to build a long-term, high-performing team. For extra support and guidance, an advanced two-day course is available.
CashMagnet Comment – Sales Gravy gets two entries because they have something unique here. There are two camps in sales performance improvement – Nature versus Nurture; Sales Gravy focuses on how you hire, onboard, and accelerate good talent. There are zero issues with this approach, especially if you have the ability to recruit well. Training the right people with anything can lead to good outcomes, and sales gravy seems to be focusing on aligning both, so outcomes are predisposed to success. I expect to pay between $995 – $5995 per person per year, depending on what’s included.
Conclusion
I attempted to add a decent expectation of spend per person for you to consider if you‘re doing research for a program. You may want to reach out to get an objective assessment guide from us or some of the other groups here. We will post a resource here in the blog for that purpose.
Training Industry Members:
My fellow training industry members: Not that you’re going to read this, but I am disappointed in the industry. This is a rather exhausting but in-exhaustive list, and dozens of professionals doing a great job who aren’t known or findable are still missing. If we don’t at least place reference prices, how is a modern sales training buyer supposed to make an informed decision? We weren’t on this list either, but we’re trying to change that by starting to illuminate the world. If you have a training business and would like to let us know who you are, please follow the format above and send an email here.
Look, I’m having a bit of find-fun-while-doing-serious-work, so I went to the bother of annotating this weird list from cheapest to more expensive. If you don’t agree with me, great. Tell me about it. And if you do agree with me, tell me why, please.
