Beach season – did you get in shape (for the boardroom)?

Goals are great, but implementing them makes a difference. Let’s consider a few and be a little irreverent.

All the dieting and exercise we started on January 1 has paid off. We are now “rocking” our new look and ready to bathe it in ultraviolet light to get that warm summer glow. It’s beach season, and we are in shape, right? Maybe not.

Whether you achieved your improvement resolutions or not, only has a small effect on your overall life. But, improving your business acumen and professional skill development will have a significant impact. All that networking and learning you did during conference and meeting season did the trick, and now you are in shape for a long list of successful deals now, right? Maybe not.

Half the year has almost elapsed. Time is short, and things are not slowing down. Just as with personal appearance goals, professional development goals usually materialize after a continued daily pursuit. That means that ending the year with success requires something small; daily or weekly action toward personal development.

Making daily and small weekly goals for development is how the best of the best achieve lasting success. For some thoughts on goals, and how to set, implement, and benefit from them, connect with us. We may be able to help.
